EDF F20 Tigershark
|
| |
Hi, I wanted to try something different and I bought this F20 EDF ARF. [link] It came with a single sheet of instructions which is a copy of a copy of a copy -- so the instructions are pretty much worthless as there is no English text and the pictures are junk.... more »

Super Tigre Carb Tuning

I am having a bit of a problem getting my ST 51 to run smoothly. I have had STs before so I know you have a delicate balance between the low end and high end before you get it just right. I recall reading somewhere that the position of the spray bar is very critical as well. Has anyone also heard of this? And what position would be ideal? Most... more »

new article, please comment
|

I posted a couple of new articles on my website at [link]. One of them involves propeller guides for 2 stroke and 4 stroke engines. I don't know the original source for these charts, and I don't have a lot of experience with engines larger than a .91 four stroke. I welcome any suggestions or corrections that might... more »

Any Diesel Engine Experts?
|
| |
I just got a Cox 049 with a Davis Diesel head running. It runs a bit inconsistently; I'm still trying to sort out the best tuning that'll give me a good flight. It tunes well on the ground, but in the air it definitely unloads and starts to 'cackle' like it's under-compressed, although it could be too rich; I suspect not enough compression because... more »

It Flies! Tee Hee!

Cap 232, control line. 27 inch wing span 'cause Dick Sarpolis has some that size in Flying Models. Babe-Bee reed valve 049 with all the performance mods I can load on it, including diesel, 'cause a model that size is _way_ underpowered with a reed valve 049 (Sarpolis used Tee-Dees; I've never owned one so I was blithely unaware that the difference was so great).... more »

049 test stand dont's
|
| |
Got a Cox reed valve 049 engine going today, with a Davis head. For a motor stand I'm using a Tatone stand with a piece of 1/8" angle iron on which the engine is bolted. Don't do this, unless you want some practical education in resonances. At the 'bad frequency' (which was just a bit lower than what the engine... more »

OS .61 dies when flying inverted
|
| |
I have a fairly new (less than a year old) OS .61FX mounted upright in a Twist 3D 60 with a 13x6 prop. The engine has been properly broke in and has about 20 flights on it. I'm having a problem that I'm not sure how to solve. When flying the plane at around 1/4 throttle, if I fly inverted, it will die and I have to dead-stick the plane to the ground.... more »
